A Variety of Ways to Distribute CubeSlice Data The CubeSlice Creator provides many different ways for you to distribute CubeSlice Data. CubeSlice Share files are executable files which contain pre-defined views and data from one or more cubes. They can be used on computers that do not have CubeSlice installed. CubeSlice Share files use an .exe extension. CubeSlice Data files contain pre-defined views and data from one or more cubes in a single file. They can be used on any computer that has the CubeSlice Viewer installed. CubeSlice Data files use a .cud extension. CubeSlice View files contain pre-defined views that can be displayed in the CubeSlice Viewer. CubeSlice View files are smaller because they do not contain the data. They use data from an Analysis Server or from a separate local cube file. CubeSlice View files use a .cuv extension. Local cube files contain multidimensional (OLAP) data that can be used to browse cubes when a user is not connected to an Analysis Server. They can be used together with a CubeSlice View file. They can also be opened directly by the CubeSlice Viewer. Local cube files use a .cub extension. The CubeSlice Creator also allows you to create zipped files that contain local cube files or a CubeSlice View file together with local cube files. These zipped files can be configured as executables (.exe extension) that display their data in CubeSlice when they are opened. They can also be created with a standard .zip extension, which can be opened with any standard unzipping software.
